Description
2000 Perennial Plant of the Year. 'Butterfly Blue' got its name for a reason - gorgeous 2 inch lavender blue flowers bring the butterflies to gardens and containers. Reaches 12 to 18 inches at maturity. Mounds of foliage are blanketed with long-blooming flowers from mid-spring to early fall. (Summer dormant in warmer climates.) Deadhead for the longest blooms, and 'Butterfly Blue' makes a long-lasting cut flower too. Great for combinations, in borders and in cutting gardens, 'Butterfly Blue' prefers full sun and is hardy in Zones 3 to 9.
