No plant holds a candle to this torch lily. With stunning 8 inch spires of red, orange and yellow that shoot out of dense clumps of grass-like foliage, Kniphofia uvaria ‘Flamenco’ adds spice to any spot.
This fast-growing red hot poker caught fire in judges’ eyes too – it’s a decorated All-America Selections winner. ‘Flamenco’ is a first year flowering perennial that sparks interest from the start.
A sun lover, ‘Flamenco’ reaches 28 to 32 inches tall and spreads to about 3 feet. It offers great salt tolerance and does not have great water needs – water only occasionally after establishment. Though it’s clump-forming, it may also spread by rhizomes.
Great for borders and beds, ‘Flamenco’ also adds flair to boxes and even cut bouquets. It is hardy in Zones 5 to 9.
